About Lynn Rogers
I was born in Berkeley and thus as a teenager marching for civil rights and peace, also absorbed the spontaneous creativity of those pivotal times. I have been interested in the voiceless ones in society; often celebrating, upholding and creating vibrant images that defy racism, sexism, ageism. I am intuitive, playful and passionate in my artistic approach. Over the years I have been shown in a variety of Bay Area Galleries, including Stone Griffin in 2010, Citadel and Works Galleries; Studio Bongiorno, the juried opening of the new Los Gatos Art Museum. , with awards at the Triton Museum in 2019. The media including the Milpitas Post has featured my art and literary efforts including my latest (of 12 illustrated novels): The Last Piano Bar, published in November of 2016. San Jose State's Martin Luther King Library featured my work in Local Lit presentations in 2017 and 2018. I often read and show art at Sparring With Beatnik Ghosts events and am in their permanent Kamstra archive collection. My art and written work featured in its anthologies. In 2011 I was awarded Woman of Achievement in Arts and Letters by the International Penwomen of America in Santa Clara County. My illustrated novels can be obtained through inklingpress.com and through lynnrogersma@yahoo.com, and lecture on Lynn Rogers MA youtube channel.
